Family | SunPlaza Park

About the same time last year, Sun Plaza Park in Tampines along Avenue 9 was blooming with so many flowers.

While my son enjoyed himself at the playground. The time was right for me to try my hands on taking pictures ala postcards like those I always but when we go on holiday tours my Lumix FZ10.

The day was good, the photos turned out not as stunning, but alright for photographer-wannabe. Click photo for more.

Photography | Day & Night

Have never regret buying my Panasonic Lumix FZ10 Digital Camera. It kept doing it job giving me wonderful looking photos whenever I care to snap a shot.

Always used the auto-focus functions and the simple selection the Menu button provides. Nothing more than that, but I am already contented.

I am even more amazed at the unexplored functions of this camera when I shot the night scene out from the windows of my apartment. What a difference it makes when I tweeked the camera to use some other functions. Click photo for more.

Abode | Zen Trend

Both my wife and I are house-proud. This is our first apartment since we got married. We love the house with its layout, the location with good amenities.

Our next door neighbour is wonderful and helpful too. They will automatically help to watch over the house and water the plants when are out on holiday tours.

The interior is always changing. The furniture is always not at the same place for very long. We keep shifting them around to keep it fresh and welcoming us home. Click photo for more.

Family | Mars Past

All that excitement and effort to view the once in a lifetime cosmic event of Planet Mars being closest to earth has ended in a disappointment.

I am 2 years late of this news. It happened on 27 August 2003 instead of this year as mistakenly stated in the email a friend sent a few weeks ago. I am ashame of myself.

Darn it! What was I doing then, that I was totally oblivious to such important phenomenon this lifetime had to offer humans. Equally disappointed was my son when I told him of the news today. We are left to star gazing and NASA website surfing for now.

Nonetheless, it was nice having sometime alone with him sharing our interests and excitements together having father and son bonding. Click photo for more.

Family | Planet Mars

My childhood interest on Astronomy was rekindled again with an email received that Planet Mars is going to be closest to Earth this month of August 2005, particularly on 27 August at 12.30am.

It is an only cosmic happening that will occur once every 60,000 years, since the last time it came as close was about 5,000 years ago as calculated by astronomers.

Armed with a telescope I bought for my son last year and "perched" on the rooftop of a multi-storey carpark, we intend to watch the skies every night till end August, to catch a glimpse of this cosmic alignment that would appear as bright and as big as the moon, that no one alive today will ever get to see it again! Bodybuilding | Local Bodybuilders

Turned 39, and all the more to keep myself fit and healthy amidst the age and the disease my father was diagnosed with and operated on barely a month ago.

Bodybuilding keeps me fresh and spirits high. It helps me too when the local bodybuilders made headways in the newspapers give me the motivation to keep training consistently to fight off the flabs and eating right.

The likes of Ibrahim Sihat, Mohd Ismail Mohd and many more local motivators who are already in their late 30's and early 40's are proofs that age does not matter. Click photo for more.

Abode | Tampines Garden

Nature has always been a part of me and so every bit of it makes me happy.

Since we live in blocks of flats, our home is fortunate enough to have an open area right in front of our door for us to bring nature practically right to our doorstep.

With the help from every member of the family, our Corridor Garden wins some praises from neighbours living in the same floor, especially our next door neighbour who always has enjoyed the calm sight it brings.

Here is where we have our family weekend barbeque and sometimes steamboat lunch in the Garden. A very nice outdoor feeling brought indoors. Click photo for more.

Escapades | NDP Fireworks

Had a blast of a time celebrating Singapore's 40th National Day celebration.

Most interesting and exciting NDP celebration was the fact that the parade was not localised to one central location, either the Stadium or the Padang. Instead to ther other 3 places too.

Tampines was one of the chosen GRC, so happens that it was a few blocks away from my flat. At an open field near the AIA Building and Gufran Mosque.

Wonderful time even though we did not join the celebrations from the start in the afternoon, but only in time for the loud and beautiful firework displays.

Happy 40th Birthday Singapore! Click photo for more.

Family | Dad's Hospitalised

I was planning to write something wonderful for my first entry here on Family. Instead my family had to go through something not so fortunate.

My Dad has recently been diagnosed with having colorectal cancer after his colonoscopy at Singapore General Hospital on Friday, 29-Jul-05.

That answered a lot of questions we had of him on why he had to got he the loo immediately every time he eats or drinks. Noticed he was slim but his stomach was quite big. He does not smoke or drink. He takes care of himself well by eating right and exercising with long walks. He keeps himself stress-free with his gardening.

All that were not enough and changed, when he experienced pain in his stomach, something he could not withstand even with his high tolerance with pain a week before, on Sat 22-Jul-05. Click photo for more.
